Life Advice & Motivation -Week 9: The Art of Appreciation

This week on life advice_ & motivation, we talk about appreciation: A principle that most people forget to practice.

Everyone wants to feel appreciated, but not everybody gives appreciation. But but appreciation for people isnt the only thing that we willbe talking about this week.

APPRECIATION for all things is what we want to teach on life advice and motivation.
Often times we are so busy thinking about the things we want but dont have.
we often forget to appreciate people and deeds, we forget to appreciate things we do have, and most of all we forget to appreciate being alive, sometimes we even forget how to appreciate ourselves!

We ask : Why should we appreciate anyways and why is it important?

The definition of apprecitation shows for itself!

ap·pre·ci·a·tion (-prsh-shn)
n.
1. Recognition of the quality, value, significance, or magnitude of people and things.
2. A judgment or opinion, especially a favorable one.
3. An expression of gratitude.
4. Awareness or delicate perception, especially of aesthetic qualities or values.
5. A rise in value or price, especially over time.

Often times when we get used to having something or somebody doing a favor of some sort for us, it becomes an expectation or because we are so used to having it, we forget to appreciate it because we think its always there.
this applies to relationships, opportunities, assets, and time.

being able to show appreciation is an art because most of us don't do it at all, but it would benefit both us and others in great ways.

The hardest thing about appreciation is seeing past the distractions that stop us from seeing the value in what we have. often wen we lose things we realize we should have appreciation. so its true that we only realize somethings worth when its gone!

this week on life advice & motivation we want you to appreciate something or notice something or someone that you usually dont. show someone appreciation and be thankful towards them, or simply just be thankful for the things you have!!! this weeks video :

Life Advice N Motivation -Week 7 : Prioritizing; Life Management

Since we kept our followers waiting this week, we will be talking about procrastinating, poor time management, and prioritizing on life advice and motivation.

what prevents us from prioritizing properly? what causes us to procrastinate?

The human condition is : Thinking.

Thinking causes feelings to spark in us, causing different moods to decide what we wanna do over what we should be doing.

If you too find that you are not getting things done in your life, and when you look back on your life your life is gone, then its time too sit down and realy figure out what you want to do with your life and whats realy important. starting with thinking about whats most important to you.

To think about the value of the outcome of the things you have to do, along with the consequences of what would happend if you didnt get the things you need to get done , done..

day turns to night and night turns to day again and when we ask ourselves what we have acomplished.

the key to getting things done is finding the will to focus.
this week on life advice and motivation we ask, what gives you the will to focus and get things done from most imporant, to least important? what is your motivation ? what would the consequences be if you didnt get something you should done? and is doing something less important worth the consequential outcome of not doing it?

Life Advice N Motivation -Week 3 : Fear Of The Future

Worry! Worry! Worry! Fear! Fear! Fear!

All causes of over thinking!

We all do it, and its always about the future.
What if this...
what if that....

Constantly thinking about whats going to happen in the future causes fear,
panic and anxiety. It prevents us from doing things we need to do or should do.
it keeps us from enjoying life to its fullest and we are losing out on the present moment by
worrying about whats going to happen tomorow or in 5 years from now .

Some of the most common fears that people generally have are :

fear of flying,
fear of public speaking
fear of hights
fear of the dark
fear of intimacy
fear of rejection

All fears that something is going to happen in the future. Life advice and motivation, says:
The only Life that exists is right now, Not yesterday , not 10 years ago,Not 2 minutes from now, and not tomorow.
Only right now exists, and as we worry about something that could possibly happen in the next 4 minutes , we allow fear
to controll us from enjoying the present moment of life that we are blessed with.

This week on Life advice and Motivation , we learn: The past and the future are illusions. The past does not exist anymore, and the future does not exist yet.

You might say, "its better to be safe than sorry", but most of the time there isnt as big of a possibility as we actually imagine.

For example someone with a fear of hights might imagine getting into a plane crash,
but they forget that thousands of people travel every day peacefully and easily.

Somebody who is afraid of rejection wont even try something because they create an image of failing or getting rejected in their mind.

Here is a deep video on fear by inspirational spiritual teacher Jiddu Krishnamurti:

Whatever our fears are, They are caused by unconciousness of the present moment and a useless and unrealistic vision of the future. By letting these feelings take over us, we lose motivation, and control of ourselves and our lives. chances and opportunities that we should face fearlessly we lose by letting fear of the future come between enjoying the present moment we have in life.

There are two ways to look at time:

Psychological time - things that we create in our minds that we think will happen in time such as falling , crashing, getting into an accident, or any common fear we have.

Practical time - Having an appointment on Friday, or an exam next month.

The only time that we should really live by is practical time, otherwise the psychological time thats created in our minds about the future just get in the way of enjoying the present moment which is life itself.

This week on life advice and motivation we ask you to try:

- something that you never do
- something that you are scared to do
- encourage somebody who is afraid not to be afraid
- follow us on twitter , facebook and pinterest!!

Life Advice N Motivation -Week 2: Stuck In The Past

This Week on Life Advice & Motivation : Time and the past.

Its our best friend and potentially our worst enemy. It is potentially what drives us to move forward and what burdens us from moving forward. But this week on Life Advice and Motivation, we ask..... whether the past leaves us with unforgettable pain from deaths, sicknesses, breakups and failures or leaves us with sweet memories, Does the past really exist in the present moment?

Perhaps it does, but when we let it , in our minds the past exists in the present moment. as we let good and bad memories of our past take hold of how we feel in the present moment. A truth is, The only Life that exists is right now. Not yesterday. Not 5 years ago. Being mentally awake, conscious and present in the moment allows us to focus more on our goals and the things were doing. Being angry at a rude comment somebody made towards you for example creates emotions that cause you to be distracted from how good your lunch tastes.

Connecting negative memories of the past to certain objects, days, people, things or places, also cause baggage and are things we need to remind ourselves to stop thinking about in order to live in the moment happily. Think about it , there's a reason why history is history, and the past is the past, its gone, we too often let it consume us through our thoughts and ruin right now for us. The Love Guru once said " A good distraction heals emotional pain" . and this is true, things that consume us in the present moment such as hobbies help us focus on taking part in our hobby itself.

Heres a very insightful video by Eckhart Tolle that shows us the effect of being present in the moment:

Life, Advice & Motivation says, moments where we feel most emotional are when the past has the biggest toll on us. Things to try this week are:

- think about what your doing RIGHT NOW when you are angry or sad from thinking about something that Just happened to you. The more you practice this the more you start to enjoy life in the moment, where it really exists!

- meditate! Relax!  and fully focus on something that your doing at the moment such as a hobby you like to do to keep your mind off things that are hurting you!

Next week on Life Advice and Motivation we talk about : Fear of The Future.
